neil warren ski guiding

About

Skiing is my passion. I love every single minute that I am able to spend time in the mountains with my guests.

The Mountains of Western Canada are my home and I have been enjoying the incredible skiing here since I was two years old.

I started guiding when I was 15 years old, which was back in 1994. Wow, time flies! The first 11 years of my career were spent guiding kids camps, cycling, hiking & backpacking trips, and instructing a wide variety of outdoor courses. After graduating university with a BSC in Kinesiology/major in Outdoor Pursuits, I was lucky enough to have one of Canadas best Mountain Guides take me under his wing. I apprenticed under him for 8 years on various ski touring/mountaineering trips before I went through the ACMG's Guide training and examination process in 2008-2010; which is one of the most rigorous in the world.

As a certified Full Ski Guide with the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides, and an Avalanche Professional with the Canadian Avalanche Association, my winters are spent leading my trips to a wide variety of Heli-accessed ski touring lodges and running custom NWSG trips & instructional courses.  I explore the backcountry on both skis and splitboard. When I'm not guiding or spending time with my wife & 2 munchkins(Nora & Levi), I run a sewing business; Alpine Threadworks. Camping with my family, mountain biking, gravel riding, training, mountain bike trail building, surfing & gardening are other pleasures in my life.

Providing my guests with a safe, fun and rewarding time in the mountains is something that I deeply love.
Let's shred together!
Cheers,

Neil Warren.
